“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” (Proverbs 22:6 NIV)
The primary goal and purpose of the MHCBC Nursery and Preschool Ministry is to introduce the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior to children, from six weeks to four years old. The principle objective of this ministry is to develop, shape, and nurture a spirit of love for God, and to seek the salvation of the unsaved.
We are committed to the development of Godly character in our children, and to strive for this purpose through the promotion of biblical moral virtues such as: Christian love, holiness, discipline, honesty and integrity. Finally, through teaching the Holy Bible as God’s inspired Word, the Gospel of Jesus Christ will be presented, and the work of evangelism will be done.
Young believers equipped with the full armor of God’s Word will be prepared to go beyond the Christian nursery school level, learning more about God; thus further developing their godly character.
“Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
(Matthew 19:14 – NIV)
The focus of the Children and Youth ministry, is reaching children for Christ as Jesus instructed us so clearly to do. In serving them, we have various tools available to the ministry.

Junior Church meets in the lower level during 11:15 am worship service for children five to ten years old. Children are invited to sit with their families, and then may leave for Junior Church prior to the sermon.
Each Sunday we sing, have introductions, listen to a short, age-appropriate lesson, then follow with Bible games and/or crafts to supplement the lesson in practical ways. Our goal is twofold. First that your child will embrace Jesus and Christianity as a lifestyle.
Second, that your child will wake up on Sunday morning thinking, “Today I get to participate in Junior Church!”
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” (II Timothy 2:15 – NIV)
Bible Studies
We introduce our adults to an environment of a Biblical world view so they can spiritually mature and walk in Christ’s likeness. This spiritual maturity will result in providing a greater sense of Biblical confidences and a healthy devotional life. Grow with us on Tuesdays: Seniors Serving Seniors Bible Study, Believer’s Basics Bible Study and Disciplined Discipleship Bible Study.
Discipleship
We offer a Believer’s Basics class and one-on-one discipleship that helps men and women grow in their knowledge of God’s Word and its application to their lives.
This is offered that they might become mature followers of Christ. Upon completing this class they are, in turn, to help others develop and grow in their Christian faith.
“Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.” (James 5:13-18 – NIV)
At MHCBC we are a people passionate about prayer! Prayer is communicating with God. Because God is a relational God, all children of God can go to Him in prayer. However, those who have not trusted Jesus Christ for their salvation remain alienated from God. So while unbelievers may pray, they do not have the basis for a rewarding fellowship with God. They have not met the conditions laid down in the Bible for effectiveness in prayer.
The Prayer Ministry is made up of prayer warriors who are serious about lifting up the needs of the church before the throne of our Heavenly Father. We meet every Thursday for intercessory prayer from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and at 7:00 p.m. for Prayer and Worship Service. We also spend time in fervent prayer before each Worship Service. Call the church office (401) 454-0052, if you are interested in joining our prayer team.
If you have a specific prayer request, please email us and join us for Webnesday Prayer and Worship Service at 7:00 p.m.
“Praise the LORD. Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in his mighty heavens. Praise Him for His acts of power; praise Him for his surpassing greatness. Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise Him with the harp and lyre, praise Him with timbrel and dancing, praise Him with the strings and pipe, praise Him with the clash of cymbals, praise Him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.” (Psalm 150 – NIV)
“Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD, my soul. I will praise the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.” (Psalm 146:1-2 – NIV)
The music ministry at MHCBC supports the broader mission and vision of the church in Kingdom Building. It focuses on particular ways to express that vision through emphasizing music as a gift of God and as a means of worship, education, mission, evangelism and fellowship. Our desire is to teach believers to delight the heart of the Father with every aspect of our lives, passionately expressing our love for God through the use of every talent and resource He has given us for His honor and glory.
This ministry develops the ministries of music, drama, visual arts and multimedia in the worship of the church so that the worship of the congregation is enhanced to the glory of God.

The ushers are called to be doorkeepers in the house of God; Psalms 84:10, ensuring the appropriate recognition of all order of service guidelines.
The MHCBC ushers are trained to effectively meet the needs of the church body during all worship services, promoting a welcoming, reverent and safe church experience. Every team member brings his or her own unique style to the ministry, but we all share in one aspiration of serving Christ through serving others. (Matthew 25:40)
“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” (Romans 12:10 – NIV)
The Men of Hope participate in a wonderful “hour of power” each week and also enjoy the fellowship of other men who share in the same trials and tribulations that life brings, but we also share in how God’s Word provides an answer for 100% of the challenges we face daily. Our men are blessed when they can find a Christ-like resolution to a problem or a situation that they are involved in rather than getting worldly advice that could potentially further compound an already complex situation.
